Diagnostic Clarification & Personality Assessment

When You Want More Than a Quick Answer

Understanding mental health concerns can sometimes be complicated. Symptoms may overlap, diagnoses may evolve over time, and traditional treatment approaches may not always provide the clarity or progress you are hoping for.

A comprehensive psychological assessment can help explore the underlying patterns contributing to emotional distress, behavioral difficulties, and challenges in daily functioning.

At Coast & Canyon Psychological Services, we provide individualized diagnostic and personality assessments to help adults gain a deeper understanding of their psychological functioning.

Who May Benefit?

Our assessments may be appropriate for adults who:

  • Experience ongoing anxiety, depression, or emotional difficulties.

  • Have questions about existing mental health diagnoses.

  • Experience complicated or overlapping psychological symptoms.

  • Want a better understanding of personality patterns and interpersonal functioning.

  • Have experienced limited improvement with previous treatment.

  • Are working with a therapist or psychiatrist who recommends additional assessment.

What Can an Assessment Explore?

Depending on the clinical questions, an evaluation may explore:

  • Mood and emotional functioning.

  • Anxiety and stress-related symptoms.

  • Personality characteristics and patterns.

  • Interpersonal and relationship functioning.

  • Coping strategies and behavioral patterns.

  • Psychological factors affecting daily functioning.

Standardized measures may be incorporated as appropriate, alongside clinical interviewing, history, and other relevant information.

What You Can Expect

Your evaluation is tailored to your concerns rather than following a predetermined testing package. The process may include an initial interview, standardized assessment measures, review of relevant records, interpretation, and a written report.

You will also have an opportunity to review your results and discuss recommendations during a feedback session.

Working Alongside Your Existing Therapist

Psychological assessment can complement ongoing psychotherapy and psychiatric care. We welcome referrals from clinicians who believe additional diagnostic or personality assessment may benefit their clients.

With appropriate authorization, we can coordinate with referring providers and share relevant findings to support treatment planning.
